Mold is a type of fungus (did you know that mushrooms and yeasts are fungi too?). Mold is very common in our environment and grows best in moist and humid areas. When indoor surfaces are wet, tiny mold spores (the way that mold reproduces) can settle on them and grow. The bottom line is that mold needs moisture to grow. Keep your home free of water leaks and too much humidity to stop mold from growing.
The Good News: If mold is seen in your home, there are ways to get rid of it. You usually don’t need to test for mold exposure.
