Intro: The Region 3 PEHSU, founded in 2000, is located in Villanova, PA at the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at Villanova University, and serves Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, and West Virginia. It is one of ten units that make up the national PEHSU network.

Specialties & comprehensive services

The Region 3 PEHSU works with health care providers, families, and communities to reduce environmental risks and exposures, thereby preventing chronic illness. Environmental health experts provide consultation, education, and referrals to families and health providers about children and environmental hazards. The team includes a certified nurse midwife, pediatric nurse practitioner, and public health nurse, and consultation with medical toxicologists. They consult on a wide range of hazards including air quality, water quality, pesticides, lead, and more.
