The Region 5 PEHSU (Great Lakes Center for Reproductive and Children’s Environmental Health), founded in 1999, is located in Chicago, Illinois at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, and serves Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. It is one of ten units that make up a national network of PEHSUs.

Specialties & comprehensive services

The Region 5 PEHSU provides expert training and consultation on many environmental health topics including how to take an environmental exposure history, environmental triggers of asthma, indoor air quality, endocrine disruptors and exposures to toxins such as mercury and lead. Our faculty is available to present Grand Rounds, residency lectures, and presentations to other healthcare professionals and community groups on reproductive and pediatric environmental health.
