Problem: A child was experiencing persistent breathing difficulties caused by asthma and allergy triggers within their home.
Solution: A home environmental assessment revealed allergens, elevated radon, and other contributing factors in the home. Region 7 partnered with Habitat for Humanity to conduct a series of repairs to make the family’s home healthier and safer for both the child and their family.
Impact: As a result of the work completed, the home was safer and healthier, the child’s health was better, and the family’s overall quality of life improved.
