Keeping Schools and Children Safe from Lead Exposure

In September 2025, Region 4 PEHSU just hosted a lead education webinar with the Mississippi Early Learning Alliance (MELA) to teach early childcare educators about the lead in relation to children’s health. With help from the community partners in Mississippi, we were able to identify that lead exposure has been an ongoing issue and many people in the Mississippi community are not aware of the dangers of lead.
