Environmental Exposures During the Prenatal and Perinatal Period and Pediatric Cancer Risk

Dr. Joseph Wiemels (University of Southern California) discussed his research on how environmental factors such as diet, chemicals and elective c-sections are related to increased risk of childhood cancers such as leukemia. Dr. Wiemels is a professor in the Center for Genetic Epidemiology at USC studying the molecular epidemiology of childhood cancers, particularly childhood leukemia and brain cancer.
