PEHSU helps protect the health and well-being of children and families who live, work, or play in settings that put them at risk for hazardous environmental exposures. Since 1998, the PEHSU network has provided information, education, and consultation services to families, communities, and health professionals (including clinicians). Over the years, PEHSU has educated more than 600,000 clinicians and clinician trainees and more than 400,000 community members on health effects related to environmental hazards. Additionally, PEHSU has provided over 12,000 consultations to health professionals, community leaders and community organizations, state and local officials, parents and pregnant women, and published over 1300 works related to children’s environmental health.
