Region 1 invites you to an upcoming Grand Rounds.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 12pm (ET), we will be joined by Dr Mingyu Zhang who will be presenting “Early-life Environmental Pollutants and Pediatric Blood Pressure: Evidence from Prospective Birth Cohorts” for our March Grand Rounds. In this presentation, Dr Zhang will discuss the adverse impacts of early-life environmental pollutants, including air pollutants, toxic metals, and PFAS, on children’s blood pressure and the risk of obesity. It also raises an urgent question: what solutions do we have to mitigate the effects of exposures that have already occurred?

A short Q&A will follow the presentation.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this educational program, learners will be able to:

1. Describe epidemiologic evidence linking early-life environmental pollutant exposures with childhood blood pressure and obesity risk.

2. Identify sensitive exposure windows using findings from prospective birth cohorts.

3. Discuss strategies to mitigate cardiometabolic risk following early-life pollutant exposures.

Speakers:

Mingyu Zhang, PhD, MHS, FAHA
