On Thursday, April 24 at 11am PT/2pm ET CHE Alaska will host Childhood Cancer & the Environment: Prevention opportunities. Research over the last 25 years has greatly expanded our understanding of environmental risk factors for childhood cancers, including pesticides, traffic-related air pollution, tobacco, and solvents. In this webinar, Dr. Mark Miller and Dr. Catherine Metayer will provide an overview of recent science on environmental exposures and childhood cancers. The speakers will explore opportunities for childhood cancer prevention, including addressing prenatal and early childhood exposures that increase cancer risk, as well as factors that are protective. They will also highlight new resources on environmental drivers of cancer designed for pediatric oncologists, community health workers, and other health professionals.
